I am obsessed with trying out ‘healthy’ baking mixes at the moment – they’re so convenient and easy to make, and are a far more nutritious (and less calorie-dense) option than shop-bought, ready made treats. Here are my current top three (spoiler: they’re all chocolatey as I am a chocoholic!).
Sweetpea Pantry Super Duper Brownie Mix
These brownies are SO good. I love how you add the sweetener of choice (honey, agave or whatever you like), so you can choose the sweetness which is perfect for me as I love dark chocolate. The mixture also contains flaxseed, so you’re getting those great Omega-3’s in too!
These cookies are SO yummy. They do spread a lot while baking, so make sure you leave enough space between the cookies before you put them in the oven. Also, the texture seemed a bit grainy before I placed them in the oven, and tasted a tad grainy once cooked, however they totally satisfied my cookie cravings. I recommend adding some chocolate chips to add that extra indulgence!
This is a fantastic way to get your protein in, which will you keep you full if you feel like you’re in need of a snack, but will also satisfy your sweet cravings. These do taste a tad like protein, however I added chocolate chips (notice a trend here?!) and I think that took the brownies to another level. I recommend cooking them for 10 minutes max too – if they are overcooked, the texture can become less gooey.
Give these mixes a try and let me know how you get on!
