My Top 5 ‘Healthier’ Chocolate Bars

I have mentioned many times on my blog how much of a chocoholic I am, but I haven’t actually written a list of my favourite ‘healthy’ chocolate bars. Now, obviously these are not the ‘healthiest’ foods you could ever eat, however they’re better for you than your average corner shop chocolate bar. I am a huge fan of dark chocolate, so most of these are quite dark.

Ombar 90% or Coco Almond

This probably comes as no surprise, as if you watch my Snapchat story (instagram @speltandspaghetti), I feature this weekly. The Coco Almond has been reformulated so it has more almonds in it, while the coconut makes it super creamy. If I just want some incredible dark chocolate, I go for the 90% as it is so rich and decadent.

Dolfin 88%

In terms of good quality chocolate, I think this is the winner. The flavour is so intense yet indulgent, and the packaging is so cool – it looks a bit like tobacco!

Montezuma’s Dark Chocolate with Dragon Ginger

This one came as a surprise to me – my boyfriend first bought it for me, and after the first bite, I knew it had become a solid favourite. The chunks of ginger give it a hint of spice, but it’s not overwhelming at all. I prefer it to the Green & Black’s Ginger Dark Chocolate (which is also good!) because the bar itself is a little thicker, making it more satisfying to eat.

Conscious Chocolate The Nutty One

This was a new discovery for me, but, as you can probably tell, I love dark chocolate with nuts in it, so it was clear this was going to be a firm favourite. I love how it’s not too sweet and the bars are small – it creates portion control for me, which I personally do not possess!

Supertreats Silky Milky

I love how this chocolate is caffeine-free, making it perfect for a late night snack. The vanilla flavour is so creamy and not too sweet, but it’s perfect if you want a healthier chocolate and are not a fan of super dark bars.

I hope this gives you some ideas of new chocolate bars to try out!
