My 3 Favourite Three-Ingredient Healthy Chocolate Dessert Recipes

So you’re still a little peckish after dinner, but can’t be bothered to get out fifty ingredients, weigh them, and then wait half an hour for the finished product? You’ve come to the right place – I’ve summed up my top three super quick and easy desserts which only contain three ingredients (or less, or more if you want to get creative and use add-ons). As an added bonus, they’re healthy too! I hope you like them!

Baked Bananas

These are fab as they look so much more complicated and impressive than they really are – they go down a treat at a dinner party! What’s more, they’re super easy to customise so you really can use anything you have in the kitchen. My sister is actually incredible at making these.

What you’ll need:

Serves 2

2 bananas

1 tablespoon Coconut oil

What you can add (recommended!):

a sprinkle of Cinnamon

A handful of Chocolate chips

A tablespoon Coconut sugar or maple syrup

Method:

Cut the bananas in half lengthways and lie them face up. Lightly spread coconut oil over them, then sprinkle cinnamon and cacao powder over them. Add a couple of dark chocolate chips on each banana slice. Bake in a preheated oven at 180C for 10 minutes, or until the chocolate chips have melted and the bananas are caramelised. Enjoy! I recommend serving with Booja Booja Hunky Punky Chocolate Ice Cream – YUM!

Banana oat cookies

When I was revising for exams, these became an almost daily occurrence as they’re so easy to rustle up but also incredibly satisfying and sustain me with energy to keep working all night (not necessarily recommended!). You can also customise these easily. In this photo I’ve added cacao powder, chia seeds and some chocolate chips.

What you’ll need:

Makes around 4-6 cookies

1 banana

2 cups oats

What you can add:

Chocolate chips

Cinnamon

Raisins

Cacao powder

Method:

Mash the banana with a fork, then add it in a bowl with the oats and mix until fully combined. Bake for around 10-12 minutes until the cookies have browned.

Chocolate Covered Bananas

This is such an oldie but a goodie. It is simply dark chocolate covered bananas – so simple but so good!

What you’ll need:

Serves 1-2

1 banana

Half a bar of good quality dark chocolate

Method:

Break the chocolate up into small chunks and either melt it over boiling water in a pan, or melt it in the microwave in 1-2 minute intervals, checking on it repeatedly to ensure it doesn’t burn. Chop up the banana into thin slices and lay them flat on a plate. Pour the dark chocolate over the banana slices, ensuring you coat them evenly. If you’re really keen for the bananas to be done asap, put them in the freezer for about 10 minutes. If not, you can stick them in the fridge for about 20 minutes.

I hope you enjoy these super simple and easy recipes!
