Simi is one of the most “in-the-know” Personal Trainers in the London market. She has over seven years’ experience and fitness has always been a part of her life, with a background in gymnastics, football and boxing. Her clientele contain some very exciting famous names, including models, actors and business owners. I adore her style of training – she incorporates boxing, strength conditioning and high intensity training – sounds challenging, and it really is but you are left feeling so energised and fantastic afterwards! How old were you when you got into fitness and how did you discover it?
I have always been into fitness, as I come from a very sporty family but I started working in fitness when I was 18.
What’s your mantra?
Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.
Who is your inspiration?
I have so many but I definitely have to say Mohammed Ali and, in recent times, Nicola Adams.
What’s your favourite type of workout?
I mix up my training but nothing gives me the exhilaration boxing does.
Morning or evening workout?
I definitely do not favour evening workouts but sometimes they are a necessity! I much prefer to work out in the morning as it sets me up for the rest of the day.
Salmon, eggs, avocado and spinach has everything I need to start the day!
Best fitness achievement?
Actually my proudest fitness achievement was my London to Paris cycle in 2012 because I managed to raise a substantial amount of money for a charity that was close to my heart.
Any advice to a fitness beginner?
Start slow, don’t try doing everything at once build up your fitness, find what you enjoy and keep track of your goals.
